Summer Intern Opportunity

Douglas Baptist Church (DBC) is seeking to hear from those who are up for a real adventure this summer. Individuals who join our summer team will have the opportunity to put their faith into action, use the gifts and talents God has given them, develop relationships, and have an impact on the lives of others. We are striving to create a positive summer internship experience for individuals aged 15 to 30. Leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills will be developed as you work in a team environment with supervision and mentorship. Our Summer Intern(s) will have many exciting opportunities to work in different areas of our church as time allows. Our desire is to offer 8-12 week positions* falling within the period of June and August 2024. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours (including some evenings and weekends) averaging 35 hrs. per week.

Work Location:

1012 Route 105, Douglas, NB (and greater Fredericton area).

Areas of Involvement:
  • Assist in ministry to children, youth and seniors
  • Provide support during our Sunday morning children’s ministries and/or be involved in some aspect of our Sunday morning services (at least 75% of the weeks worked)
  • Creative support in areas of technology and content creation
  • Be involved in community outreach activities
  • Assist around our building with small maintenance tasks
  • Other aspect of our work as time allows and to be agreed upon with supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Be a disciple of Jesus Christ and seeking his leading in their life
  • Have a love for people and a desire to show them God’s love
  • Have experience in leadership
  • Be in agreement with and adhere to Douglas Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith & Church Covenant
  • Be comfortable using common computer applications, such as email and projection software
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English, with spoken French as an asset
  • Good time management skills, including punctuality
  • A current criminal background check from their local police department or RCMP detachment
