Rev. Peter Moore, Senior Pastor
Peter has been Senior Pastor here at Douglas Baptist since September 2005 when he returned from the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia where he attended Acadia Divinity College and served at Bethany Memorial Baptist Church. Pastor Peter’s call to Douglas was a home coming of sorts. A native New Brunswicker, he had the opportunity to serve as Youth Pastor at Douglas from 1997-2002. Peter grew up in Saint John and moved to the Moncton area to attend ABU which is where he met his wife Patricia. They married in 1996 and now have five wonderful children (Adam, Caleb, Nathanael, Jonah, Leah). Peter enjoys fishing in the spring, biking in the summer, going for walks in the orchard in the fall and snow in the winter. He is also known to slip in a Peanuts story during his messages anytime of year!
Rev. Dan Pyke, Pastor of Youth and Children
Dan came to Douglas Baptist Church in July 2010 after having moved from Nova Scotia. Dan came to Douglas after studying at Acadia Divinity College and serving as youth pastor at First Cornwallis Baptist in the Annapolis Valley. Dan grew up near Truro, NS, and he met his wife Lachelle while studying in Moncton at Atlantic Baptist University. They were married in 2004, their daughter, Rhailyn, was born in 2009, and their son, Kendrick, in 2011. Dan likes to spend his spare time reading, bicycling with his daughter through the summer and snowshoeing in the winter.
Mrs. Cindy Grasse, Music Coordinator
Cindy grew up in Keswick and became part of the Douglas Baptist Church family in 1986. She married Murray, who grew up attending Douglas Church, in 1990 and has been involved in leading the music ministry for over 20 years. Murray and Cindy have two teenage children, Monica and Jonathan, who are also involved in various ministries in the church. Cindy is a mathematics teacher at Leo Hayes High School and coordinates the Youth for Christ group there. At church, Cindy is the part-time Music Coordinator and enjoys leading the choir and playing piano on a worship team. Cindy enjoys walking, reading and hanging out with her family at various music and sporting events.
Mrs. Nancy Veno, Administrative Assistant
Nancy moved back to Fredericton in February 2010 after living in Blissfield (near Doaktown) for the past 17 years. When her husband passed away in Sept. 2009, she decided it would be best to return to her “hometown”, where most of her family lives. Nancy came to Douglas Baptist in April 2011, when hired as Administrative Assistant. She previously attended the Doaktown Baptist Church, then the Miramichi Valley Church, and Smythe Street Cathedral. Nancy has three children. Her daughter, Melanie lives in Douglas and has four children, son Corey lives in Keswick and son Jesse lives in Okotoks, Alberta, with his wife Pam and has one child and one step-child. Nancy also has a step-daughter and step-grandson who live in Ottawa. She enjoys walking, reading, bicycling, cross-country skiing and attending Bible studies.
Mrs. Louise Fanjoy, Custodian
Louise and her family moved to Douglas in 1971. She started working as custodian at DBC in 1976. This began as 4 hours on Friday and has progressed to 20+ hours a week. She is married to Robert who you will see assisting her occassionally.Robert and Louise have two sons Brian and Thomas, daughter-in-law Marilyn and grandchildren Laura and Benjamin.
Gardening, sewing and cooking are three of Louise’s favorite activities and she sees her job at the church as a ministry.
