At a meeting earlier this week, Council reviewed the current situation in our province and the most recent Emergency Order.
Churches have been given two options when gathering in their facility:
1. Choose to ask for proof of vaccination, or
2. Put in place a series of Public Health requirements at gatherings.
Our Council decided to look at each type of gathering we hold on a case-by-case basis to determine which option would work best as we seek to provide a safe and welcoming environment for spiritual growth.
Below you will find a quick explanation of how we will be handling different activities at this point. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out and keep in mind things can change quickly! Thank you for your patience, grace, and understanding during these challenging times.
Sunday Mornings – We will continue to provide online services via our Facebook page, YouTube and Phonestream. If you are worshipping in this way, we encourage you to gather as a family and even consider inviting close friends to join you.
For those who would like to gather at the church there will be an in-person option with limited assigned seating. Those wanting to attend in person will need to sign-up in advance, wear a mask, and physically distance from other households. Please note that while we will have music as a part of our services, the current Public Health Order does not allow for congregational singing. At this time, we will not be asking for proof of vaccination.
DBC Kids Connect will be offered (with masks and physical distancing) for K-5. However, at this time we are not able to offer a nursery or pre-K program. We continue to evaluate how we might be able to provide opportunities (especially for preschoolers) in the near future.
Weekly Meetings and Small Groups – These can take place in our church building as long as those attending wear a mask, physically distance, forego singing, and sign in.
Youth and Kids Programs – The approach we are taking for each program is being communicated directly to parents by the appropriate leadership.
We appreciate your patience and need your grace as we navigate this season. While there are challenges, God is still working and wants to use us in the midst of it all. Our circumstances have changed again but our mission has not. We can and are still finding ways to connect and share Jesus with others.
