The Christmas season is upon us. Decorations are going up. Stores are getting busy. There are visits to make, parties to attend and traditions to keep. Expectations grow. Kids get more and more excited. Adults get more and more stressed. The world around us becomes noisy, hurried and crowded.
In the midst of it all God’s people make room. Just as someone made room for Jesus and found him a lowly manger to sleep in, we make room in the midst of our noisy, hurried and crowded culture to reflect upon and celebrate the birth of our Saviour. The season ahead is a special one. It can be filled with all kinds of good things…sometimes too many good things. This Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus let’s be prepared to make room, to set aside something so that we can do the things that matter most.
Sundays @ DBC
We gather every Sunday at 10:30am to worship. During the Christmas season our focus is on the coming of Jesus and our services remind us why we celebrate this wonderful time of year. This year on Sunday mornings along with singing and special music, Pastor Peter will be challenging us to make room for more of what really this Christmas. Nursery, preschool and kids program is provided.
Annual Tree Lighting & Bethlehem Market
Let's gather together as we kick off the Christmas Season with our joy-filled FREE event for families and individuals of all ages on Nov. 26 at 6:30pm! Our celebrations will begin outside as we light our community Christmas Tree and enjoy some special Christmas music. After a short time outside we'll come together inside for a Bethlehem Market where you can visit, explore and enjoy with hot drinks, cookie decorating and a fun assortment of special take home craft/projects for everyone. Invite others to join you and don't miss this special event!
On Saturday, November 30 from 8 am to 2 pm, we will be hosting a Missions Market. This will be a great opportunity for you to support various local and global missions while doing some Christmas shopping.
Caroling & Cookies...
We believe that Christmas is a time to share and show love to others. One of the ways we do that is by going caroling and delivering cookies. On Sunday, Dec. 15 we will head out into our community to spread the good news of great joy. You are welcome to join us. No experience necessary and we will provide the cookies that you will deliver along the way. We will gather that day at the church at 2:30pm to divide into groups.
A wonderful time of food, friends and fun awaits as we gather on December 22 at 9:15am for breakfast. Join us on the most important day of the week, for the most important meal of the day. With only three sleeps to Christmas, this morning will be filled with excitement and energy. For those who struggle to get going on Sunday mornings we will have lots of coffee : )
Christmas Eve Services
On Tuesday, Dec. 24 we will have two family friendly services at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm that will last under an hour and be filled with music and the meaning of Christmas. Both services on Christmas Eve are the same so pick the service that works for your family celebrations.
Christmas Offering Project
This year half of our Christmas offering will be going to help kids-at-risk in the Dominican Republic. Money raised will be used by our STEP partner churches in the Dominican to help approximately 270 children and youth in Sosua (Los Charámicos and Arroyo de Leche) and Sávica (La Romana). Activities our Christmas offering will support include English lessons, homework help, vocational training, music lessons, and Christian education. In addition, the churches also provide food assistance and school supplies. You can give to this project and help change the life of a child or teen in the Dominican by marking your donation "Christmas". Go to our Give page to see how easy it is to make a tax receiptable donation.
